Mazie Peach Current event #11 27 February 2020   If coronavirus spreads within the US, here's how daily life might change How is it possible the coronavirus will change our daily life? schools, businesses, hospitals, and first responders could all be impacted. the recent death tole is 2,000. People thought that the outbreak was slowing, but due to how contagious the outbreak is it raging. The United States and Australia have denied entry to noncitizens that have traveled to China recently. There are 48,206 cases of the Coronavirus. People are accidentally infecting others before they’re aware that they even have it.  My opinion is that the Coronavirus shouldn’t have even entered the U.S. The people who control who comes into the country should have tested everybody. Even without a mass breakout, there should still be testing going on. The fact that the Coronavirus is in the U.S now is very scary. I am glad that it has not yet reached Maine. Also, I think

Current event #10                      Kobe Bryant's death  Kobe Bryant died on January 28th, 2020. The late NBA star is now missed by millions of people. The helicopter crash that put the NBA star to rest also killed his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna.  Kobe Bryant and his thirteen-year-old daughter we're traveling to a basketball tournament for his daughter. there were nine people that died in the   Helicopter crash. on February 7th Kobe Bryant got put to rest at   Pacific View Memorial Park and Mortuary, Newport Beach, CA . Kobe Bryant will forever be missed he was one of the greatest NBA players of all time. Every person that has never watched and cared about the NBA we'll miss him.  he was an inspiration for all ages. Kobe Bryant's daughter Gianna was a big fan of the Yukon women's team. on there game, right after her death the UConn bench had a uniform for her with the number 2. the number to was her number. 

Mazie Peach Current Event #9                               Martin Luther King Jr. Day Marton Luther King’s day has been a federal holiday seans 1989. m Luther was an African American Hero she helped, segregation. Even though slavery was over the Blakes were not treated fairly. Oin this article it talked about all the stuff he did like the have a dream speech. How he changed the lives of so many people. Martin Luther King was assassinated on April 4, 1968, but his birthday as Jan. 20 1929. we celebrate it because of his great alchemists. I think that Marion Luther king day is a wonderful holiday. he was a wonderful man and did wonderful things. my favorite thing that Marton Luther king did was the I have a dream speech. also, I think that the person that killed Martin Luther King was a terrible racist man. And got what was coming to him.

Jan. 6, 2020 New York Times wrote an article on the stick that killed Qassim Suleimani. “Iran’s top security and intelligence commander was killed early Friday in a drone strike at Baghdad International Airport that was authorized by President Trump, American officials said.” late in the day, the Iran commander of forces was killed because we sent a strick agent Iraq. Then later along in the mouth, there was talk of a ww3. Over socelmeadea, there has been a lot of talk about ww3. The teens and young adults worried that they are going to get drafted. Honestly, I am not worried that there will be a world war three because we have a very dangerous and big military. So I say that if they are going to try and attack us without coming into our country because they are scared. then we should stay put we shouldn’t go to another country to fight. Let them come to us. also, they are very coshes not to make us mad because the

Mazie Peach  Current event #7 18 December 2019                                              Netflix Is Ad-Free, but It Isn’t Brand Free          In the article Lesson of the Day: ‘Netflix Is Ad-Free, but It Isn’t Brand Free’ By  Nicole Daniels , it says that not a lot of people watch tv without ads. So that’s why Netflix is so good because you can watch a show that you like without ads that pop up every 5 min. Netflix may be ad-free but it is not brand free. There are always things saying what the favorite tv show is blank and it is only on Netflix. This is branding.  I don't mind branding. They are just trying to make money. All companies have councils. It may have no ads but it still brands its company and that's okay. I think it is wonderful that they don't have any ads it makes it more fun to watch. And to me, it's ok that they try to support themselves by making comushles.                         

MAZIE PEACH   CURRENT EVENT  #6 07 NOVEMBER  2019 Four  Maine towns passed recreational marijuana rules on Tuesday. Others are still wary. On Tuesday this week, four towns in Maine passed recreational marijuana law. They passed it so they could have medical and so anyone could grow it.  Town Manager Dennis Heath said the questions came up after the town’s planning board received an application for a cultivation facility this summer. Heath said he recommended the select board not “kick the can down the road” on whether they want marijuana facilities, noting plans to allow for recreational sales by early next year. He said the town will probably vote on an ordinance codifying’s Tuesday’s vote next March.  I think that it is stupid because people are going to abuse it anyway.
